…hallelujah shame
…she was homeless
mind appeared to be gone-
so they laughed
and they laughed,
and they all laughed-
and i wondered if she could hear them-
and i wondered if it made her sad-
but unbothered as she seemed,
she began her conversation-
her alone with her-
one appearing as one-
had a glow like twelve lights to one room-
as if someone were there-
sharing the moment-
and even with nothing, she smiled a smile of everything-
as if someone were as fixated to her;
as she to them- so she spoke louder.
so more began to notice,
so more began to laugh-
and they shouted cruel names.
and they shouted cruel names.
but what if the one you ridiculed,
possessed more faith than that of you-
simply trying to share a conversation-
with her El Shaddai.
with her only Jehovah-
never questioning his presence,
never doubting his reply-
crowd and all.
and what if…
jus’ what if-
she got yo’ sanctified hallelujah faith
lookin’ like sanctified hallelujah SHAME-
jus’ sayin-
what if.
