…God’s traffic
…1,2,3 cars go
4,5,6 cars more-
but where?
and who are the souls behind the wheel?
and what are they thinking?
some faces look so blank, no expression-
so i stare deeper to read them, before the light changes-
what are they feeling?
are they happy?
content?
hurting?
lonely?
are they contemplating suicide at that very moment?
two souls-
one watching, one driving-
fighting the same demon?
and not even knowing-
7,8,9 cars go
10,11,12 cars more-
one goes left, the other turns right-
different minds-
different lives-
different journeys-
dreams-
beliefs-
yet all from the same God.
yet no one smiles at the other-
yet no one looks over to say hello-
one king, one father, one world-
a billion siblings-
yet a billion strangers-
navigating the spinning wheels that fascinate me-
as each being,
dolled up or dressed down-
mind intact or burnt out-
are almost robotically navigated by one soul underneath one flesh-
just moving so fast,
the mind fails to pause long enough to notice the work of Gods brilliance-
despite the mental illness-
despite its unfair sickness-
the art of his work still exists-
selah.
can’t you see it?
as 1,2,3 cars go?
as 4,5,6 cars more?
i do-
especially when parked-
fleeing monsters and all-
watching God’s traffic.
